On making custom perfumes

A lot of people ask me for advice on making their custom fragrances. I love making them, and it's rare that a scent combination doesn't work. Many get a single-note scent of something they know they like. If you want to make a more complex scent, the general rule is to have at least one top note, one middle note, and one bottom note in your fragrance.

I also find that 2 scent combinations of from the fruity & fresh or floral & spicy categories are nice together. Some examples are Honeydew+Green Tea, Yuzu+Ginger Ale, Carnation+Clove, and Jasmine+Amber.

Some examples of top notes:

Epically Epic is now a registered trademark!

Epically Epic ® !

Well, it took a while, but I have gone through the entire process to make Epically Epic my own legal registered trademark. I was inspired to do this when I discovered that cyber-squatters had taken the domain name epicallyepic.com (see what they did with it, here grrrrrr.) It's nice to know that I'll have some legal recourse if someone wants to 'borrow' my business name in the future. If you need advice on trademarking your business name, feel free to contact me :)

My trademark was published in the Trademark Official Gazette on November 27. Pretty interesting to see all the trademarks that have been published recently, including Isaac Mizrahi.

I want to thank all my wonderful customers for helping me reach the 10,000 sale milestone on Etsy! To show my appreciation, I wanted to have a big holiday sale this year. Use the coupon code CELEBRATE at checkout to get 15% off your orders until Monday, November 12, 2012!
